ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Here's a warning for drivers headed downtown this week; all westbound lanes of Interstate 64 will be shut down Thursday and this weekend between Broadway and 21st street.
Lanes close at 8:30 p.m. and open at 4 a.m. the next morning. The 10th and 14th street ramps onto Interstate 64/40 will be open for baseball traffic to get out of downtown.
The closures were originally scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, but officials said the hot temperatures are forcing them to reschedule.
Officials now say the work will take place starting Thursday at the earliest.
The detour for the closure is to take westbound I-44 to Jefferson and back to westbound I-64.
The remainder of the work will be completed during this weekend’s scheduled closure of westbound I-64 between Broadway and 21st Street.
Crews will close westbound I-64 at 10 a.m. Friday and reopen the two left lanes by 5 a.m. Monday.
