(KMOV.com) -- All eastbound lanes of the Forest Park Expressway were closed Wednesday night and into Thursday morning after a single vehicle accident that killed one man.
Police said the accident happened around 11 p.m. on Wednesday. Officers said the driver was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes when he lost control and struck a power pole. The force of the accident caused the vehicle to wrap around the pole and caused the power pole to snap in half.
Ameren crews remained on the scene Thursday morning to replace the damaged power pole. One eastbound lane of Forest Park Parkway is still closed between DeBalaviere and Des Peres avenues.
Authorities have not identified the man who died in the crash other than to say he is in his 40s.
