(KMOV) -- The homicide numbers continue to rise in St. Louis.

Police were called to the 2900 block of Keokuk in south St. Louis overnight.

That’s where police Darryl Mason, 45, dead.

Investigators say Mason was trying to break up a fight when he was shot and killed.

Police are still searcing for the gunman.
