According to a spokesperson with the St. Louis police department, Carl Sharp was carrying several cheeseburgers from a Rally's Drive-In when he returned to his home in the 3800 block of Lee Avenue around 12:30 a.m.

Neighbors say the suspect had asked for two cheeseburgers, but Sharp returned home with three.

Sharp, the suspect and another man got into an argument over the extra cheeseburger, but later decided to eat one cheeseburger each, witnesses said.

After eating the cheeseburgers, the suspect and the other man left.

Police say a short time later, the suspect returned and shot Sharp three times; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The guy did not have any remorse, because he rode past everyone that was standing up here. There was like five or six people out here. He rode past all of us, shot (Sharp) and he rode off,” neighbor Altovise Henderson said.

A 16-year-old suspect fled the scene on a bicycle, but was taken into police custody late Sunday afternoon.

Friends say Sharp, 26, recently graduated from college.  He is survived by his wife and two children.

A fund has been set up to benefit the four children of Sharp.
