PACIFIC, Mo. (AP/KMOV) -- A truck driver escaped from his rig before a train hit it, but died at the scene from a medical condition.
Sgt. Al Nothum with the Missouri State Highway Patrol said a truck got stuck on train tracks in the eastern Missouri community of Pacific around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday.
The 70-year-old truck driver, David Willoughby of Leslie, apparently got out of the vehicle prior to the crash, but suffered a medical condition, and died at the scene. His semi was then hit by a train. No one on the train reported injuries.
