Four St. Louis firefighters were injured, including one who suffered burns to the face and had to be rescued when his air tank ran out. Another firefighter hurt his back when the floor gave way. All four firefighters were treated and released from the hospital.

The house on Virginia was being rehabbed and no one was living there.

Illegal fireworks were going off all night across the city and landing on rooftops and elsewhere starting many fires, including the house fire on Virginia.

St. Louis Fire Department investigators believe fireworks may be the cause of 12 fires in St. Louis City on Friday night between 9:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m.

Eight of the fires broke out in north St. Louis and another four occurred in south St. Louis.
