ST. LOUIS (AP/KMOV) -- An infant is hospitalized but is expected to recover after being ejected in an accident on Interstate 44 in St. Louis. Meanwhile, police cite the mother for failing to properly secure the boy.
It happened just after 7:30 this morning near Hampton Avenue. An SUV rolled over. Police say the six-month-old boy was ejected and suffered cuts and bruises.
The mother's name was not released. The 21-year-old woman is also charged with driving with a suspended license.
The child will remain at St. Louis Children's Hospital overnight for observation.
News 4 found that Mo-DOT gave emergency crews an "A" that responded to the morning crash.
Mo-DOT was pleased to find that crews were able to upright the overturned SUV and clear the interstate within 30 minutes, so that traffic could proceed to flow.
