(KMOV) - Two students at two different local schools died Monday at school.

Raevin Hutson

A 17-year-old boy passed away at Vashon High School and a 13-year-old girl died in her Alton school.

An autopsy shows a 7th grade girl from the Metro East suffered a heart attack and died after lunch Monday.

It happened at Alton Middle School.

Raevin Hutson, 13, was active in sports and had no history of medical problems.

Two teachers, a school nurse and an assistant principal all performed CPR.

Emergency room efforts also failed.

The autopsy shows Hutson had a previously unknown heart condition. Her death is blamed on natural causes.

Cortez Riney

There's a similar and just as tragic death in St. Louis. Health officials are investigating the sudden death of a senior at Vashon High School.

Authorities say it appears Cortez Riney, 17, suffered a seizure.

The St. Louis School District says Monday morning, Riney collapsed in class.

Security guards tried to revive him until an ambulance arrived.

Riney's mother says he had a cut on his chin and a bloody nose after apparently falling out of his classroom desk.

Riney had a history of seizures.

We're told some teachers are raising questions about how long it took for an ambulance to be called.
