Details have not been released, but Lenihan had hired an attorney and this was a financial settlement.
This morning, Lenihan joined the NAACP and promised to be involved in the organization, insisting it wasn't a publicity stunt.
NAACP leaders blamed the media and KTRS management for over-reacting to Lenihan's on-air statement. The civil rights group urged KTRS to hire him back.
Lenihan was fired one hour after he used a racial slur to describe secretary of state Condoleezza Rice.
Lenihan insists he was trying to say something else.
After previously coming out against Lenihan, leaders with the civil rights organization said they support him and believe his comment was just a mistake, and, that the NAACP and KTRS radio both jumped the gun and overreacted.
