Police: Body found in lake appears to be victim of accidental drowning

(KMOV) -- Ferguson police say that the body of a man that was found in a lake appears to be the victim of an accidental drowning.
The discovery was made around 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the January-Wabash Lake in Ferguson, Mo.
Authorities say the victim is an African-American male believed to be in his late 30's to early 40's and heavy set. He was wearing a pair of brown shorts. Park personnel found a pair of shoes and a shirt from the side of the lake earlier. Fishing gear was also found in another portion of the lake.
The man has not yet been identified. He had no identification and is not believed to have had a car in the park.
Police are checking with missing persons reports to see if they can ID the man. The medical examiner is conducting an autopsy to make sure there is no foul play involved in the death
