Woman accused of shooting ex-boyfriend in Granite City parking lot

GRANITE CITY (KMOV) -- A woman is in jail after allegedly shooting her ex-boyfriend in the parking lot of a Big Lots store.
It happened Sunday afternoon in the 3800 block of Nameoki.
According to police, Julie Laws confronted the victim in the parking lot. After he exited his vehicle, Laws exited her vehicle with a shot gun.
Police say that after an altercation, Laws shot the man in the leg and fled the scene.

The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and was later released.
Laws later turned herself in to authorities in West Salem, IL which is close to the Indiana border.
Laws was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
Her bond is set at $100,000.
