Judge revokes bond for suspect in SIUE threat case

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) -- A Madison County judge has revoked the bond of a former Southern Illinois University student awaiting trial on charges that he threatened a "murderous rampage."
A defense attorney had asked the judge to either modestly increase Olutosin Oduwole's (oh-loo-TOH'-sihn oh-DOO'-wawl-eez) bond or set conditions that included having him live under his New Jersey father's supervision.
Prosecutors countered that Oduwole's supposed threat could have affected 13,000 students at SIU and that he should be considered a public threat.
Oduwole was arrested in July 2007 after police found a gun in his apartment and a note in his car that threatened killings similar to the Virginia Tech shootings.
Oduwole had been free on bond until he was arrested last month in Missouri.
