ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- At least 65,000 people, including nearly 5,000 breast cancer survivors, descended on St. Louis for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Organizers said the event Saturday morning raised more than $3.3 million for breast cancer research.

Jacob Swearingen of Potosi, Mo., won the race for the second year in a row. The first survivor to cross the finish line was Katie Setton of Kirkwood, Mo., who also achieved the feat in 2008.

Other race winners included Vivian Wadeck of Los Angeles, who was the first female to cross the finish line and Don Dowling of St. Charles, Mo., who was the first wheelchair participant to finish the race.

Breast cancer survivor Hoda Kotb, a co-host of NBC's "Today" show, served as an honorary chairwoman for the event.

This year marked the eleventh year the event was held in St. Louis.
