ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Officials at Lambert Airport say part of the baggage claim area flooded when heavy rain moved through Friday afternoon. The rain also flooded I-70 nearby.

Around 4:30 p.m., the baggage claim area of Terminal One flooded. Airport officials say it happened in an area where a section of the roof is undergoing renovation. As part of the work, waterproofing had been removed and water overwhelmed the temporary patch that had been installed.

The airport says there does not appear to be any significant or structural damage.

Crews are currently mopping up the area and setting up fans to dry it.

Clogged storms drains near eastbound Interstate 70 close to Lambert had traffic backed up as a result of the heavy rainfall.

Just before 5 p.m., emergency crews shut down two right lanes to clear standing water.  The on-ramp from Airflight to eastbound Interstate 70 has was shut down.

Around 6:00 p.m., everything re-opened.
