FENTON (KMOV.com) -

Many fans attending the PGA Championship at Bellerive say getting to and from the course has been smooth sailing on Thursday.

Thousands of fans once again filled the parking lot in Fenton, went through security and onto shuttles for the 20-minute ride to Bellerive.

“Getting out yesterday was a bit of a problem, of course there are a lot of people. Today was not bad at all,” said Ernest Miller who is attending the tournament from Marion Arkansas.

One fan said that too many fans have been trying to get to the course early trying to see big names such as Tiger Woods, which caused an early morning traffic backup in Fenton.

By mid-morning, traffic had thinned out.

“I got lucky. I had to work all day and didn’t get to the lot until 10:00 a.m. Walked right up on the bus,” said Josh Kidwell of Oakville.

One man said he attended on a previous day, saying it took longer to get to Bellerive on Thursday.

Despite some complaining about a long wait, they also say they are having a good time nonetheless.
