(Meredith) -- Two Trump supporters were spotted at the President's latest rally wearing T-shirts with a message printed on the front. It read, "I'd rather be Russian than a Democrat."

A photo of the two middle-aged men wearing "Make America Great Again" hats and the gray tees went viral on Twitter, gathering more than 18,000 likes, 7,000 retweets and more than a few angry and questioning comments. Although most of the attention came from Twitter, the photo was originally posted to Facebook here.

According to Cleveland.com, the two men in the photo are James Alicie and Richard M. Birchfield, friends from Delaware, Ohio. When asked about the shirts, Alicie said he didn't understand why Trump faces so much criticism about Russia, while Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama didn't, and Alicie encouraged Democrats, "To jump on board this train and give him a chance."

Saturday's event in Lewis Center, Ohio marked Trump's 22nd rally since his inauguration.
