St. Louis City, County PD received hundreds of calls about July 4 fireworks

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Police in St. Louis City and County received more than 800 calls about fireworks on July 4 and July 5.

Authorities say St. Louis police took 477 calls about fireworks but only issued one citation. St. Louis County police received 385 calls but only issued two citations.

Many residents say the lack of citations is frustrating but St. Louis police say calls for fireworks are a lower priority.

City police also said it can be difficult to locate the person who set off the fireworks.
