ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Two men accused of stealing from Mid Rivers Mall led St. Ann Police on a high-speed chase.

After the pursuit, police are left holding a bag of t-shirts worth thousands of dollars.

The chase, which traveled along Interstate 70, reached speeds of more than 100 miles per hour, turning a lunchtime into rush hour.

"Obviously, we want to catch whoever is fleeing from us, but we also have to take into consideration those who are around us," said St. Ann Police Lieutenant Dan Cowsert.

St. Ann Police went after the truck once it left St. Peters.

"We feel we owe it to our residents to apprehend and bring all suspects to some form of justice," added Cowsert.

Dashcam video, obtained exclusively by News 4, shows the truck switching from lane to lane while never slowing down.

The driver eventually stopped, but not before ramming the officer's patrol car at Union and Bircher.

St. Ann Police officers were able to recover the truck. They were also able to get the 98 t-shirts stolen from a department store. Now, they just need to get the suspects.

"At this time, there is no concern for the citizens to be alert about," said Cowsert.

The total value of the stolen shirts is nearly $4,000.

This is the second police chase in the last week to start in St. Peters and end in north Saint Louis.

Police tell News 4 both chases have started in nearly the exam spot near Mid Rivers Mall Drive and Cottleville Parkway.

St. Peters and St. Charles Charles County Police are looking into whether there is an uptick in crime near the intersection.
