ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Yadier Molina is now a nine-time All-Star. The 35-year-old catcher was named to the NL All-Star team as a replacement for San Francisco catcher Buster Posey, who will miss the game with right hip inflammation.
On the year, Molina is hitting .278 with 13 homers and 38 RBI in just 231 plate appearances.
He missed a month with an injury, and still leads all NL catchers in home runs and is tied for third in RBIs.
Molina joins Wilson Contreras of the Cubs and J.T. Realmuto of the Marlins as NL catchers for the Midsummer Classic.
