1 killed, 7 injured during violent Fourth of July night throughout St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – One person was killed and seven were injured during a violent Fourth of July night throughout the City of St. Louis.

The first shooting left a person in their late teens injured in the Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood around 11:40 p.m. Wednesday. According to police, the victim was taken to the hospital and listed in stable condition after being shot in the leg in the area of Hodiamont and Wabada.

About 10 minutes later, a man was shot in the neck in the 3900 block of Potomac in south St. Louis. He was conscious and breathing while being transported to the hospital.

The victim, a pizza delivery man, has had a GoFundMe set up by a friend to raise money for his medical care. The link can be found here.

Less than an hour later, officers were called to 13th and Cass Avenue in north St. Louis after a deadly double shooting. Two men arrived at two different hospitals with gunshot wounds. Police said 28-year-old Dashaun Gage, died of his injuries and the second man was listed as critical. The shooting allegedly happened during a dispute between a dozen people in the parking lot of Salama Supermarket.

The fourth shooting occurred in downtown St. Louis at 1 a.m. Thursday when a man and woman were shot while inside a vehicle at 4th and Convention. Both victims were taken to the hospital and listed in serious, stable condition.

Around 2:15 a.m., police were called to another shooting, which left a man with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to the hospital and listed as stable after sustaining the wound in the area of Leonor K. Sullivan and Carr.

The final shooting of the overnight hours occurred in the 1300 block of Mclaren when a 15-year-old was shot in the hand. The boy was taken to the hospital and listed as stable.
