Suspect accused of impersonating officer in St. Charles County

ST.CHARLES, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A driver has been arrested and charged for operating a fake emergency vehicle in St. Charles.

Michael Wallace, 25, is charged with false impersonation of a law enforcement officer and driving with a revoked or suspended license.

St. Charles City Police Department responded to the area of Highway 70 and Cave Springs around 7:45 a.m. in reference to a report of a vehicle driving with emergency equipment operating lights and sirens. Authorities were notified that the vehicle was possibly not an authorized emergency vehicle.

Officers were aware of previous reports, as well as video of this vehicle operating as an emergency vehicle that had been posted to social media including Facebook.

Police were able to locate the suspect vehicle and made a traffic stop. Wallace was then arrested.
