EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) – A Metro East police department is turning to residents to help them fight crime.

The Edwardsville Police Department wants residents and businesses who have an outdoor video surveillance system to register their camera. Officials said when a crime happens in a neighborhood police can then ask the camera owner to check their footage, helping police find suspects quicker.
