HOUSE SPRINGS (KMOV.com) -

Downed trees, power lines and blocked roads are what residents in Jefferson County had to deal with after evening thunderstorms rolled in Thursday.

The most significant damage was of a tree that was snapped in half, crashing on a mobile home in the Sycamore Springs mobile home park in House Springs.

The renters told News 4 the ceiling is now on their mattress.

Laura Durrer says luckily she was not inside the home at the time, leaving minutes before the tree came down.

“It completely demolished the back bedroom and our laundry room and there’s a tree through the living room too,” said Durrer.

She says they didn’t have insurance but is thankful no one got injured.

There were also reports of damage in St. Charles County.
