ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson is back home after a weekend in Boston, Massachusetts, for the United States Conference of Mayors.

More than 250 mayors met to discuss issues like infrastructure, cybersecurity and public safety.

Krewson says much of the conversation was about gun violence.

"Gun violence is at such epidemic proportions all across our country and that is no different than right here in St. Louis. Mayors are talking about gun policy, mayors are also talking about prevention programs,” Krewson said.

Krewson also said she had conversations with federal officers to work on grant money to help fight the opioid crisis in the St. Louis area.
