PEVELY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A boil order has been lifted for some residents and businesses in Pevely.

The city said the order applies to those along Highway Z between Main Street and US Highway 61/67 (also known as Commercial Boulevard). It also applies to residents who live along Central Ave and Zion Lutheran Church.

Authorities said water used for drinking, cooking or brushing teeth should be boiled. Water for bathing or cleaning does not need to be boiled.

The city is also urging residents to run their water to release air into the water lines.

The boil order goes through Friday.
