EUREKA, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

There was a large turnout Tuesday night at Eureka’s Board of Aldermen meeting where officials are reconsidering the town’s pit bull ban.

Supporters at the meeting suggested that bad behavior is not just isolated to pit bulls.

The board decided not to repeal the ban but voted to review the city's wording on violent animals.

“I’m really glad they are willing to look at everything and work with us. I know we are planning to work with them on not just repealing the breed ban, but strengthening their animal abuse laws because I know they have an issue with irresponsible owners here,” said Mandy Ryan with Missouri K9 friends.

The attorney for the Board of Aldermen said there is no timing on when changes to the wording of the ordinance will happen.
