CRESTWOOD, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Crestwood Mayor Gregg Roby announced he is resigning after four years, effective Friday, June 8. Roby said he is stepping down to concentrate on his health and his family, according to the City of Crestwood.

The President of the Board, Alderman Tony Kennedy, will take over as mayor until a special election is held, which is tentatively planned for Nov. 6.

"It has been my honor to serve with each of you and will remember all the great strides we have made as a board,” Roby said in a resignation letter to the Board of Aldermen. “I wish each of you great success in your continued efforts to make Crestwood a community we can all be proud of.”
