ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Yadier Molina and Carlos Martinez will make their return to the lineup when the Cardinals take on the Marlins Tuesday.

Molina missed the last 26 games after undergoing surgery after getting hit with a foul ball on May 5. Prior to last Friday’s game against the Pirates, the All-Star catcher said he was planning to return for the series opener against Miami.

Molina made it through a two-game rehab assignment at AA Springfield over the weekend, going 0-5 with a sacrifice fly.

Pitcher Carlos Martinez has been activated Tuesday after missing time with a muscle strain near his pitching shoulder. Martinez has been announced as the starter for Tuesday's game against Miami. Before his injury, Martinez had a 3-2 record with a microscopic 1.62 ERA.

To make room for the two All-Stars, the Cardinals have moved Mike Mayers and catcher Steve Baron to Memphis. The Cardinals also announced that right-hander Preston Guilmet had his contract purchased from Class-AAA Memphis. He has been called up to the big leagues. Greg Garcia was also placed on paternity leave.

The Cardinals will open up their series against the Miami Marlins at Busch Stadium at 7:15 p.m.
