ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A woman from Freeburg, Ill. was charged with two counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding police and one count of leaving the scene of an accident.

On May 31, officers with the Dupo Police Department attempted to pull over a vehicle driven by Kathleen A. Tweedy, 32, on Stone Street and North 2nd Street in St. Louis. The car sped off and the officers pursued.

The suspect vehicle struck another vehicle leaving the subdivision and continued to flee. The driver crossed into Missouri and eventually took the Lindbergh exit. The pursuit ended because of rush hour traffic.

With the help of the Freeburg Police Department, the suspect and vehicle were located on June 1. The suspect was arrested and held at the St. Clair County Jail.

The case was presented to the St. Clair County States Attorney’s Office on June 2.

Tweedy remains in the St. Clair County Jail.
