BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) -

Jury selection is scheduled to begin Monday in the murder trial of a St. Louis man accused of murdering three people in a Belleville hair salon 13 years ago.

Samuel Johnson, 51, was charged with three counts of first degree murder in 2016 after police renewed their efforts to solve the case.

Johnson is accused of stabbing Belleville hair stylist Michael Cooney and two clients, sisters Dorothy Bone, 82, and Doris Fischer, 79, in 2005.

The victims were all found inside the hair salon at Cooney's home.

Johnson was arrested and charged with attempted residential burglary days after the killings. Prosecutors said there wasn't enough evidence to charge the 51-year-old with murder at the time .

Johnson has been serving a seven-year term in Missouri for gun, drug and other charges.
