WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

The Webster Arts Fair is the first weekend in June, just five days after the "Art Outside" festival at Schlafly Brewery in Maplewood, where a severe storm wiped out the tents and damaged the artwork of 66 artists who were participating.

Seven of those artists had already signed up for the Webster Arts Fair before losing a lot of their art they could have sold. The director of the Webster Art Fair, Jeanne Vogel, also participated in the Schlafly art fair last weekend. She made sure to accommodate the artists who needed to make a quick comeback to participate.

"Last weekend, the very first thing we did on Sunday morning is call all the artists in our show and asked them what they needed," said Vogel.

All seven were able to make it to the Webster Arts Fair, including St. Louis photographer Neil Brown. Most of his prints received some sort of water damage and a lot of his frames were bent or broken.

"I got there around 6:30 in the morning to find a tent just like this 30 feet away with art strewn everywhere, soaking wet," said Brown, "The frames were really scuffed up and you could actually see the water pooled in the frame."

More storms are expected throughout the weekend of the Webster Arts Fair, so Vogel has designated a storm shelter at the Eden Seminary for vendors and customers to use if needed.

"If we have to evacuate the field, which we have had to do before, we have a safe place to get everybody," said Vogel.

St. Louis Brewer's Guild created a GoFundMe account last week to help the 66 artists that were at the Schlafly Art Festival recover. You can still donate. The goal is to raise $25,000. https://www.gofundme.com/art-outside-artists-damage-fund
