ST. LOUIS, Mo. ( -

Would you be able to save someone’s life if they stopped breathing and had to perform CPR?

Abbott EMS wants to make sure you would be confident in an emergency situation. The company is taking part in the world CPR challenge.

Abbott teams up with the Maplewood Fire Department to teach hands-only CPR.

The team is popping up in busy places around the St. Louis area to teach these simple steps.

“Check responsiveness, if unresponsive, have someone call 911. Simply check breathing. If irregular respiration, get in there and start doing compressions for them,” said Chris Moore, Abbott EMS.

Last year, Abbott EMS coached 64,000 people through the CPR process.

The goal this year is to teach 80,000 people.
