(CNN) -  A video went viral after a women is shown getting punched by a police officer in New Jersey.

Authorities say she was drunk and acting violently and did not want to be handcuffed, according to WABC.

A bystander can be heard saying “you’re not allowed to do that” as witnesses yell at the woman to not resist being arrested.

The scuffle between a 20-year-old woman and police Saturday afternoon on Wildwood Beach shows punches thrown, with footage captured by Alexis Hewitt.

“The next thing we know we hear all this commotion and yelling. I woke up and realized there were officers and everybody running around so I immediately grabbed my phone, it was when I started recording,” said Hewitt.

Emily Weinman posted to Facebook about an interaction with officers asking about underage drinking.

She admitted to having an unopened bottle of alcohol.

The City of Wildwood Police Department released a statement on Facebook Sunday evening:

This City of Wildwood Police Department has received reports of a video on various social media sources, regarding an incident that occurred on the Wildwood beach yesterday afternoon, with our officers.

An Internal Affairs Investigation was immediately initiated into this matter and the involved officers have been reassigned to administrative duty pending the outcome of a full and thorough investigation.

Chief Regalbuto stated that while he finds this video to be alarming, he does not want to rush to any judgement until having the final results of the investigation.

Emily Weinman, W/F, 20 years old of Philadelphia was charged with Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer (2 Counts), Aggravated Assault by Spitting Bodily Fluids at/on a Police Officer, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Obstruction and Minor in Possession of Alcohol.

Another witness, Julia Cortez, says her and Hewitt were napping on the beach when the incident escalated suddenly.

“We saw her getting hit kinda like, we just saw it happen firsthand, and people around us were running around and then we saw the other cop come in and try to push us all back,” said Cortez.

Police confirm two officers have been placed on administrative duty while they investigate.
