A cross-county police chase from St. Charles ended Sunday after three suspects crashed in north St. Louis.

According to police, a man and woman entered Chuck's Boots in St. Peters just as employees were closing and locking up the store Sunday afternoon. The thieves allegedly grabbed an armful of clothes before sprinting towards the door.

After noticing the door was locked, one of the suspects brandished a pistol at the employees. The employees then unlocked the door and the suspects fled in a gray Chevrolet Impala.

Officers from the St. Peters Police Department pursued the suspects down eastbound Interstate 70 towards First Capital. Officers with St. Louis County were on patrol in the area of Bellefontaine Road and Interstate 270 when they spotted the Impala.

According to police, St. Louis County officers attempted to make a traffic stop but the driver refused to stop. Officers continued to chase the suspects from North County into St. Louis City.

The pursuit ended in the 4200 block of North Florissant Avenue when the suspects' vehicle struck a tree off the roadway.

Officers took three suspects, all adults, into custody.

According to police, two suspects were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No additional information has been released.
