Fire truck catches fire at Cahokia fire station

A fire truck parked inside the Camp Jackson Fire Department in Cahokia caught fire Sunday afternoon.

Around 1 p.m., fire officials said crews noticed smoke starting to fill the station. Crews located a fire truck parked inside the engine bay on fire, according to officials.

Crews extinguished the fire and managed to remove all other units out of the fire station.

The fire truck sustained damage as a result of the blaze.

Officials have not released any information as what caused the fire or any reports of injuries.
