ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) Are you looking for something fun to do this summer?  How about trapeze school? You can learn to soar through the air just like I did!

Hidden outside, behind the DoubleTree hotel in Chesterfield, is Trapeze STL.  As long as you’re at least six years old and can fit in the harness, you can participate. No experience necessary!

I was eager to give it a try.  Plus who can complain about a day of work being spent at trapeze school?  I like to fashion myself a bit of an adventurous soul, so this might have been the best work day ever!

One of the things that surprised me as I chatted with Manager Matt Viverito is that this is a non-profit. All their profits support Circus Harmony, a youth-focused, social circus.  You’ve probably seen Circus Harmony at City Museum, or perhaps performing at Circus Flora. “The goal of the youth circus is not just to teach circus skills and techniques, but teach life skills and connect communities, and even motivate social change” says Viverito.

Trapeze STL opens for the season Saturday May 26 and continues through mid-October.  Classes are 2 hours long and regularly scheduled Wednesday through Sunday. Individual classes are $60, and discounted multi-packs and group rates are available.

It’s a ton of fun and a great workout too. There was a birthday party coming in for class as I was leaving so while you can just go solo, it’s a great option for parties, family outings or even date night.
