Firefighters rescue 2 climbers at Castlewood State Park

WEST ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV.com) -

Two hikers were safely rescued after they became stuck in Castlewood State Park around 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening.

Authorities said an 18-year-old man and woman who were free climbing and became stuck 75 feet from the ground.

Both were rescued by the high-angle rescue team.

Firefighters said the team practiced for such a scenario earlier in the day.

Nobody was injured.
