Florissant man shot, killed in family dispute

FLORISSANT, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A Florissant man was found dead on Wednesday, May 23.

Police arrived at the 3600 block of Dwyer in Florissant following a call about a shooting. They found a group of people surrounding the body of 52-year-old Stanley Ivory. Police said Ivory had suffered from apparent gunshot wounds.

Officers attempted to revive Ivory, but he was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigation revealed the the shooting was the result of a family dispute. Police said Ricky Canada, a 54-year-old man from the surrounding group, identified himself to the police as the shooter and confessed to shooting the victim to investigators.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s office issued warrants on Canada for Murder 2nd degree and Armed Criminal Action.

Canada is being held at the St. Louis County Jail on $250,000 bond.
