ST. JOHN (KMOV.com) -

A St. John man says he feels pinned inside his driveway.

He said his neighbor owns a half dozen cars and one particular car is blocking half of his property.

“It’s been there for months and months and months,” Ray David said.

David says having an SUV in front of his property makes an easy task like taking the trash out and exiting his driveway difficult.

“It’s really difficult especially when I have to come and get the trash cans and as you can see it’s kind of hard for me to walk because I have to have heart surgery next month from all of this,” he said.

St. John Police told News 4 their hands are tied because the owner isn’t in violation of the city’s ordinance. Police said because the SUV is registered, not abandoned, and isn’t inoperable they aren’t required to move it.

Police go on to say the owner of the car also makes sure to move the vehicle before the seven day period outlined in the city’s ordinance.
