JENNINGS (KMOV.com) -

A 29-year-old man has been convicted for a gruesome murder that occurred in 2012.

Prosecutors say Phillip Huffman stabbed his girlfriend over 180 times during a domestic dispute in her apartment in the 8800 block of Maya Lane in Jennings.

According to police, the victim’s eight-day-old baby was at home at the time of the stabbing. It was not known if the child was related to the suspect.

The knife used in the stabbing was recovered at the scene.

A jury found Huffman guilty of first-degree murder. He is facing a mandatory sentence of life without parole.
