St. Louis Lambert International Airport preparing for busy travel season

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

St. Louis Lambert International Airport is preparing for its busiest summer in over a decade based on current passenger activity.

The airport reports passenger activity is up almost 5 percent. St. Louis has seen 32 straight months of growth and April’s activity included about 1,283,179 total passengers.

St. Louis is expecting more than 4.2 million passengers between June and August.

The Memorial Day holiday weekend is the traditional kickoff to the peak summer travel season. The Transportation Security Administration along with other travel groups is predicting an increase of fliers between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

In the last two months, Southwest Airlines added daily non-stop service to Sacramento, CA and San Jose, CA.

WOW airlines is also offering international nonstop service from St. Louis in December this year.
