CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - A woman who is charged with gambling away money raised for an injured police officer is leaving her fate fo a judge.

Former Hazelwood police dispatcher April Briscuso entered a blind plea Monday to felony stealing, which means a judge will determine her sentence without any recommendation from prosecutors.

St. Louis County police say Briscuso organized several fundraisers for former officer Craig Tudor, who was paralyzed in a car crash as he responded to a police call.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Briscuso admitted to stealing at least $9,500 raised for Tudor. The thefts were discovered when Tudor and his wife told investigators they had not received money raised at several events hosted in their name.

Briscuso is scheduled to be sentenced July 16.
