BERKELEY (KMOV.com) -

Berkeley residents are dealing with added restrictions when it comes to owning multiple pets within their city limits.

The city is now limiting residents to only two pets per household. On top of that, Berkeley is raising fees to register pets to $5 when it used to be between $1 and $2.

The city will also impound animals that are found tied up outside in public areas.

The Berkeley city manager says the reason is to help public health and to cope with increasing animal control costs.
