ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Veterans fought for this country, but hundreds of them remain homeless in Missouri alone.

Today, a 10,000 dollar donation was made to St. Patrick Center to help them. That money will go directly toward helping homeless vets finding housing. It is estimated there are more than 600 homeless veterans living in Missouri.

Jeffrey Lewis is a veteran now training to become an assistant manager at Walgreen’s.

“I was one of those people before my company moved out of Arizona,” said Lewis. “Wasn't aware that the problem was huge."

Lewis said it is more than just a roof over your head. He said the center puts people in contact with other agencies to help land a job.
