ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – The manager of a St. Louis County car wash is accused of stealing money from the safe.

On May 15, Howard Antonio McGregor was allegedly seen on surveillance video taking two deposit bags of money from the Brite Worx Car Wash in Florissant. After taking the bags, police report that he briefly went home and then went to a nearby location to call the police to report the robbery of the deposit bags.

Florissant detectives said they later discovered McGregor’s robbery claim was a ruse and placed the manager under arrest for stealing. He is being held at the St. Louis County Jail on a warrant of stealing over $750, a class D felony.
