CRESTWOOD, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

The sight of towering and sloping dirt piles for months are adding to the frustrations over the lack of development at the Crestwood Mall site along Watson Rd.

"I'm extremely disappointed," said newly elected alderman Ismaine Ayouaz. "One of the first questions is, what are you going to do with this mall? I wish I knew."

A few years ago, city leaders approved tax breaks for Chicago based developer Urban Street for plans to turn the site into a mixed-use retail and residential development.

Former alderman Darryl Wallach admits hope for the site is fading.

"My personal opinion I think that's eroding," Wallach says.

There is still another year left on the agreement for formal plans to build, and Urban Street continues to market the property on its website.
