JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A burglar in Imperial got into a home On Old Lemay Ferry Road on April 25 and made off with $55,651 in property.

According to police, the female homeowner left the home at 9 a.m. and did not set the security system. She also told police she may have left the door unlocked, though she could not remember.

When she returned at 3 p.m., she noticed her bedroom was not as she left it and called police.

When officers walked through the residence, they noticed several items had been taken from both the bedroom and the home office.

The burglar, or burglars, made off with several wedding wings (a two carat ring, a four carat ring and a silver ring), and three firearms including a 1911 Remington R1.

Police are investigating whether a nearby burglary may be connected, but have not released any information about possible suspects.
