ST. CHARLES COUNTY (KMOV.com) -

Some elementary school students in Fort Zumwalt School District have stars in their eyes and they have autographed cards to go with them.

Recently, Fort Zumwalt High School students visited Ostmann Elementary in O’Fallon, Mo. to sign their own playing cards. The high school students are part of the district’s Leader in Me Program.

The high school students visit grade schools to talk about making positive choices and setting goals.

“It gives them someone to look up to, a role model for them to help stay on the right path,” said Fort Zumwalt West senior Benedetta Matthews.

The Leader in Me Program started four years ago. Fort Zumwalt West principal Neil Berry started the card singing program, inspired by his love of baseball cards.
