ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Parents in the St. Louis Public School District have a chance to weigh-in on the 2018-2019 budget.

Now that the district is fully accredited, district officials say they want to focus on other goals like financial stability and setting a culture of high expectations and accountability.

The district expects to see more local tax money, to the tune of $1.3 million, but is losing about $10 million from the state. At the same time, enrollment is falling. District officials say other challenges include growing operating costs and reaching competitive salaries.

So in the proposal, district officials outline a response that includes a marketing campaign for enrollment, staff accountability, and salary increases.

It’s not clear how much each of those will cost but that could be outlined at Tuesday night’s meeting. It starts at 6 p.m. at the Central Office in room 109.

You can also submit comments or concerns about the budget online through May 13. It will be up for a vote on May 30.
