Local middle school student a finalist for 'Google Doodle' contest

ST. PETERS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A local seventh-grader is the Missouri winner of the 10th annual Google Doodle contest.

DuBray Middle School’s Abbie Chartrand was chosen from nearly 200,000 submissions to be one of the 53 state and territory winners to compete for the five finalists’ spots.

On Thursday, May 3, representatives from Google visited Abbie at school to surprise her with the announcement.

You can vote for Abbie’s doodle to be at the top of the Google homepage by clicking here. Voting closes at 10 p.m., Friday, May 18.
